Happenings Around My Place
I think it's about time I catch all my readers up with all the goings on 'round here.
As you know, one of my geese started laying about a month ago, then gradually several more girls started laying. Now I'm getting a steady supply of goose eggs. Some of them go in the refrigerator, and the others go into my room where they will be stored for hatching. I have several orders for goose eggs so my room is filled with egg cartons loaded with eggs of all shapes and sizes.
I have never baked with goose eggs before so I'm excited to experiment around with some of them! Recipes to come, so keep an eye out for them.
The travelers are home from TN, it's good to have them home, but it's also going to take a little bit for this to seem all "normal" again. I'm used to being home all by myself from about 6 in the morning to about 6 that night. It's quite strange having the house noisy again. And to be completely honest, I have not missed the extra cooking or the extra laundry. No sir, not one little scosh!
So excuse my absence the last few days, but I have a very good excuse! I have been cooking, cleaning, doing mountain loads of laundry, trying not to get sick, and trying to catch up on some lost sleep. They got home at about 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning (I think). I stayed up until they got here, said hi to everybody and then went straight to bed, but I ended up staying awake until around 4:0 a.m. because little 'sis wanted to talk, but oh well. Now, today it seems we have a sickness to deal with. Cimarron woke up really sick during the night and today nobody felt real wonderful...minus the kids who were bursting full of energy, while the rest of us moped around the house with pounding headaches. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. A dear friend of ours, who we've know for...like...ever is getting married, and several of us are in her wedding, sorta, I'm going to be a cake-server, while my brothers are going to be ushers. We must be there first thing in the morning, so I'm sure we'll be getting back pretty late. Pictures to come....
Also, sometime soon I'll be taking a trip to TN to see my darlin' niece! So excited!! I've been having baby-pains. Yep, it's true.
Just for the record, this has to be like my favorite face.....ever!! <3
Are you having baby pains? Your welcome. Just sharing the love...er pain.
Rusty has been banished from sleeping inside. When it was just the three of us at home, we'd let Rusty sleep inside at nighttime, but then he started knocking over all the trash cans in the house and would tear all the tissues, paper plates, etc into tiny shreds and scatter them all over the house. He sleeps outside now. He lost his privileges. Don't let this face fool you, he really is a naughty boy.
I have several new recipes to share with y'all, I will try and get those up soon. I must go now, the supper dishes are calling my name.
Blessings -

ReplyDeleteOoh, Marian is the cutest baby ever! Yup, you are giving me your baby pains. I wish someone here would have a baby! My uncle got married last summer, but I don't think that they are planning on any kids for a while, unfortunately. :( When you go to visit her I'm expecting LOTS of pictures, okay? Like LOTS.
