Where On Earth Have I Been???

Where On Earth Have I Been???
Oh my! I shiver to think how many weeks I've let slip by since I last posted! Will you please forgive me, my dear followers, if I update you on what's been happening behind the scenes here at the ranch? Excellent! Let's get started shall we? Of course we shall! ;)

I first started getting behind on my blog, when I went and spent the night with my brother's girlfriend's family (confused yet?) for the weekend (and yes, I totally just blamed that all on them! TeeHee!). Afterwards things just got more and more hectic! Believe me, there was a reason I didn't post for so many weeks! A couple weeks later, Atlanta, Jordan, and yep our darlin' niece Marian came to see us for a couple of weeks. Needless to say I was much too busy being sucked on by an adorable baby, and when I wasn't being chewed on, I was having baby pains and staring at darling Marian. There. That pretty much sums up their visit. Oh I guess we did have a big welcoming home dance for them, and some other stuff, but those are minor details! Right? Of course right!

The last evening they were here, we went on a jeep ride out in the pasture.

We've been richly blessed with an abundance of rain. The result = green grass.

A cool little forest nook around a dirt tank. I feel a medieval photo-shoot in the near future! ;)

My gorgeous sister and little brother..but I'm not going to call him gorgeous, I'll call him handsome.

Storm clouds brewing up whist we walked in the pasture.

This is our wheatfield, but no there is no wheat planted...

...what you see growing out there is stickers...yup, and weeds.

But hey! They're green and pretty and that's worth something.

Momma longhorn and her calf, wondering why on earth we aren't giving her some food.

The finger sucker:

Who is an expert at doing this:

And looking super adorable while doing it. <3 <3 <3 <3

Your welcome for passing the baby pains around. :D

After their visit my cousin came down and spent two weeks with me, on the day we're supposed to meet her folks, also happened to be Stockton's birthday, so as a surprise we took them to the zoo.

Scarlet Macaw

Blue Macaw

A very photogenic peacock who wanders around the zoo, displaying to anything and anyone in sight.

Please don't show this chicken house to my chooks! They would go on egg-laying-strike until they got an identical one!

Tocan

The waterfowl enclosure which was full of ducklings, rare geese, flamingos, and other birds of a feather.

Guys, I need a giraffe!

On another point of interest, giraffe's tongues' freak me out.

Now honestly, gaze into those big black eyes and tell me they aren't cute! Go on..do it!

Mr. Struttin'-his-stuff

Wild turkeys

Some kind of hog

Mt. Lions are big kitty cats. Just sayin', I don't ever want to cross paths with one of these cats...EVER! They are gorgeous critters though.

Otters

Hawks and falcons

Can't you see me galloping along on a horse with a hunting falcon (or hawk) on my arm? 'Cause I sure can!

An interesting flower bud

My pretty sister <3

Fuzzy black bears

Horned owl

Broody Road Runner setting on a clutch of eggs.

Prairie chicken

Are you ready to see the cutest owls...ever? Meet Archimedes' family:

I think I need to become an miniature owl breeder...

Jaguar

Tired monkey

Red wolf

Rheas, zebras, and llamas

I think I'm going to get a job in a zoo, so I can join this lady in scraping up giraffe poo!!! Although, Momma reminds me daily that I already own/run a zoo. *ahem*

Lions, tigers, and bears! Oh my!

Rhinos

Ostriches

Crested Crane

Ocelot

Friendly fish..who if you fell into their lake, I'm pretty sure, would eat you alive.

Prairie dogs

A drowsy Archimedes owl snoozing...zzz

A ridiculously adorable Black Footed Ferret sleeping on his back with his feet tuck up in the air! <3

Swift Fox

A fuzzy baby Flamingo

Gator

An indoor aviary that had Wood ducks, doves, song birds, and some other tiny adorable blue-billed ducks.

And there you have it, a summary of what's been happening around this joint while I've been MIA from the blogging circle! I still have lots to catch you all up on, so check back soon!

  1. I'm so envious of you rain! California is still stuck in a severe drought. We have no green, like, anywhere. Well, it looks like you've been having lots of fun around the ranch and at the zoo! I'm looking forward to reading your posts again dear!

    1. I'll be praying that y'all get some rain up that way! We certainly know how desolating it is to live in a drought!
