Singing Cinderella

Singing Cinderella

Today I want to run wild and free. My heart is racing to do something crazy.

The last few days have been very cold and miserable. The only time I went outside was to feed and water the animals and then back inside I went to huddle next to the wood stove. Today it's still cold (20 or 30 something I think), but 30 degrees is a whole lot better than 3 degrees, like it was last night.

My morning started about like usual, I made myself get out of my cozy covers and tore myself away from my two bed partners...Gypsy and Coconut. ; ) I threw on my work cloths that I've worn for the past..ummm...week or so *ahem*, pulled my hair back and went outside to face the cold chills of the morning air. I let the peafowl out, herded all the geese into their respective breeding pens, turned the ducks, chickens, and guineas. Went ice slidding..or sledding or...whatever and did a body-slam on the dirt and scored a couple new bruises. Checked and watered the rabbits, and then came in to warm myself and get lunch going. After we finished lunch, I was cleaning up the kitchen and washing dishes. Now, if any of you have been around me at all, you know I like to sing. I may not sing very well, but sing I do. To me, singing and washing dishes go hand-in-hand. So, while I washed, I sang, I felt just like Cinderella. But, I had forgotten that the other peoples that live in the same house as me, were in the other room trying to watch a movie, but couldn't seem to hear anything because a certain individual was singing her heart out over a bowl of soapy dish water. Said peoples in the other room told this certain individual that she needed to be quiet. Said individual couldn't seem to contain her urge to sing her heart out and after doing the quickest washing of dishes job ever recorded, she threw on her older brother's cowboy boots and trudged outside. It was a beautiful day to be outside, despite the light breeze that stung her face as it rushed past her cheeks. She couldn't decided where she wanted to go, should she go out in the horses pasture, trudge around the barnyard, or go out into the wild blue 'yonder? Mmm..the wild blue 'yonder sounded pretty appealing so she went in that direction. It was perfectly calm, the only sound that caught her ear was the songbirds singing their hearts out. She walked briskly down the tire-worn-road, the faster she walked the more energy that seemed to surge through her body. So she kept on walking until she got to the second wheat-field, which was about 1/2 a mile from the house. As she neared it, she spotted three does out grazing on the field, she crept up to the edge of the field and watched them nibble away, not a care in the world, then their ear's pricked and they all looked straight towards her and high-tailed it (literally) over a fence. She then proceeded the walk back to the house. The walk back, being mostly downhill, gave her the chance to run as fast as she could downhill until her sides hurt and her lungs burned, then she continued to walk. About 3/4ths of the way home she heard coyotes howling very close by and decided to take off at a fast pace until she reached the gate that lead to the house, because said individual doesn't much care for coyotes following her, not that she's scared of them mind, but because on this particular walk, said individual didn't take a firearm along with her.
So ended her adventure of tromping around in the wild blue yonder. After perching on a fence for several minutes watching the chickens scratch around in the barnyard, and petting a few very fuzzy horses and getting covered in horse hair, she left to go indoors, smelling like a horse, which by the way (in my humble opinion) smells a whole lot better than most perfumes that are on the market now-a-days. Sorry ladies, but horses smell awesome, you may think I'm crazy (and you'd probably me right in assuming that), but it's true.

So, said individual went inside but since she was still feeling very energetic and  felt like saddling up a horse and galloping around with a sword swinging it around.

What??? Can I help it if I feel like a warrioress when I watch war movies...especially if they are set during the medieval period???

Yep, she was feeling crazy, soooo...she stuck in a war movie. Because now said individual's legs were giving out from all the exercise and she needed a rest, so here she sits watching other people do crazy thinks, gallop around on big black chargers, and whack each other with swords.

I will leave you now. I've relieved my mind of some of it's many thoughts and besides that, my head feels like it's spinning around in circles.

Blessings -

  1. Is that Legolas in the pictures? 'Cause if not it looks creepily like him. Just looking at those pictures now makes me want to gallop around on a black charger and do other crazy things as well. And I definitely agree that horses smell better than most perfumes.

  2. Yes, that is Orland Bloom. Haven't you ever seen the movie "Kingdom of Heaven"? That is the movie we were watching. I tell ya, it's contagious!

    2. It is an excellent movie! Although, it does have some junk in it. Our Mom edits pretty much all of our movies, so we've watched quite a few movies that *most* people haven't, because we can edit all the bad stuff out (language, scenes, etc).

  5. I agree with you Kili dear! I may not be the biggest horse fan, but they definitely smell awesome! :) Much better than any perfume. Any chance I get, I love to rest my head against their warm necks and just breathe in the smell. :)
