An Oldie, But A Goodie

One of our dear mares, Stars 'n Bars, is getting on up there in years.

She is 28 years old...

which if you know anything about horses, then you will know that 28 = about 100 y/o for a horse! 

She is a very dear sweet creature and has lived a very long, and full life.

Every morning, while I'm milking Belle, she'll come up to the fence and whinny at us.

In horse language, she's saying "Come feed me right this INSTANT!" 

She is enjoying her retirement to the up most.

She spends most of her days grazing out in the wheat field by the house.

And in the evenings, she comes up by the barn to take a nap, before returning to the field.

One of us is wearing boots a size too big...and it's not me! ;)

Meanwhile, during the photo-shoot, Pixie was giving us the stare-down because we weren't giving her any attention.
